Vince Gill’s “Sweet Thing” vs. Keith Urban’s “Sweet Thing” – which is better?
They are both completely different songs but, as a COUNTRY song, which is better?
I have to go with Vince Gill’s “Sweet Thing.” I mean, Keith Urban’s “Sweet Thing” is 100% pop–whatever happened to Urban? He used to be country by today’s standards but, ever since he got married, he hasn’t even been country by today’s standards!
What does everyone else think?
brooke: Keith Urban doesn’t write all of his songs–quite a bit of them, but not all of them. He wouldn’t be so bad if he would go back to at least more of a southern rock sound or even just to rock instead of pop!
Carla W: I’ve actually heard that Urban puts on quite the live show! I have seen his first live DVD, “Livin’ Right Now,” and I thought it was a great live performance. I liked his music much more back around the time that DVD came out though.
I actually really liked that version of “The Hard Way” that Urban performed with Katrina Elam…it’s a shame she never got too famous–she sure can sing!
Also, I don’t think Vince Gill’s “Sweet Thing” was ever a single, but he did perform it live on the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 DVD and I hadn’t realized, until just recently, that I have the song on CD. It’s on that four-disc album of his called THESE DAYS. Great album, for those who haven’t heard it!
Any thing by Vince will always be better then Urban’s because Urban is not country.
i agree about what you said with keith’s marriage, but i still love him and at least he writes all his songs. i agree that he’s getting more pop, and country is my favorite music, but it’s not like i hate pop! but to answer your question….keith only because he’s my favorite singer (: all his songs i love.

Anything is better than Keith Urban. He’s kinda creepy looking too. Vince Gill is a singer !
so it seems to be who likes who better, but that is understandable, i myself is really not a vince gill fan, i am for kieth urban, but honestly, i dont know if i heard either one of the songs

I have to go with Keith Urban on this one I cannot recall Vince Gill’s so I will have to look it up. I saw Keith in concert a few months back and he puts on an AWESOME show.
