Everything Country

What’s that song (I think either Joe Nichols and Brad Paisley), all I remember is, “football games, conclusion”?

I’m remembering a country song that I’m pretty sure is by Brad Paisley or maybe Joe Nichols. The only part of it I remember though is where he says, “football games, graduation”.

Anyone remember what this song is?

The only song that I can remember right now that mentions anything about football games and graduation is Kenny Chesney’s I Go Back.

“Jack and Diane” painted a picture of my life and my dreams
Suddenly this crazy world made more sense to me
Well I heard it today and I couldn’t help but sing along
Cause everytime I hear that song

I go back to a two ton shortbed chevy
Drivin’ my first love out to the levy
Livin’ life with no sense of time
And I go back to the feel of a 50 yard line
A blanket, a girl, some raspberry wine
Wishin’ time would stop right in it’s tracks
    Everytime I hear that song
I go back, I go back

I used to rock all night long to “Keep On Rockin Me Baby”
Frat parties, college bars, just tryin to impress the ladies
Well I heard it today and I couldn’t help but sing along
Cause everytime I hear that song
I go back to the smell of an old gym floor
And the tatse of salt on a carolina shore
After graduation and drinkin’ goodbye to friends
And I go back to watchin the summer fade to fall
Growing up too fast and I do recall
Wishin’ time would stop right in it’s tracks
    Everytime I hear that song
I go back, I go back

We all have a song that some how stamped our lives
Takes us to another place and time
So I go back to a pew, preacher, and a choir
Singin’ about god, brimstone and fire
And the smell of Sunday chicken after church
And I go back to the loss of a real good friend
And the sixteen summers I shared with him
Now “Only The Good Die Young” stops me in my tracks
And everytime I hear that song
I go back, I go back

To the feel of a 50 yard line, a blanket, a girl and some raspberry wine
    I go back
To watchin summer fade to fall
Growin up too fast and I do recall
    I go back
To the loss of a real good friend and the sixteen summers I shared with him
I go back, I go back, I go back

I think ‘I’m Country’ is correct, but it might also be “The Impossible” by Joe Nichols.

    Lyrics:
My dad chased monsters from the dark
    He checked underneath my bed
He could lift me with one arm
Way up over top his head
    He could loosen rusty bolts
With a quick turn of his wrench
He pulled splinters from his hand
    Never even flinched
In thirteen years I’d never seen him cry
But the day that grandpa died,I realized

    Unsinkable ships, sink
    Unbreakable walls, break
Sometimes the things you think would never happen
    Happens just like that
    Unbendable steel, bends
If the fury of the wind is unstoppable
    I’ve learned to never underestimate
    The impossible

And then there was my junior year
Billy had a brand new car
It was late, the road was wet
I guess the curves was just too sharp
I walked away without a scratch
    They brought the helicopter in
And Billy couldn’t feel his legs
    Said he’d never walk again
But Billy said he would and his mom and daddy prayed
And the day we graduated,he stood up to say:

    Unsinkable ships, sink
    Unbreakable walls, break
Sometimes the things you think would never happen
    Happens just like that
    Unbendable steel, bends
If the fury of the wind is unstoppable
    I’ve learned to never underestimate
    The impossible

So don’t tell me that it’s over
Don’t give up on you and me
‘Cos there’s no such thing as hopeless
    If you believe:

    Unsinkable ships, sink
    Unbreakable walls, break
Sometimes the things you think would never happen
    Happens just like that
    Unbendable steel, bends
If the fury of the wind is unstoppable
    I’ve learned to never underestimate
    The impossible

    Realy Life by Jeff Carson?

I was young, he was old
we both were the same age
    Everyday playing fetch, shaking hands
    he`d lick my face

    I wasn`t aware
    The day would come
    Then he died
For the first I knew what real pain was

I was never was the same again
    From that moment on
    Real life began

    Senior high, girlfriends
    Football games, graduation
    Summer break, spend my time
    Filling out applications

A few superficial years went by
    They were all a blur
    In the most unlikely situation
    There you were

I never was the same again
    From that moment on
    Real life began
    With you

By your side, scared to death
Felt the pain, you were fighting
Placed my palm on your head
Spoke your name, just keep trying

Then you closed your eyes and took one last breath
When it was over you looked up
Laid our baby across your breast

And I never was the same again
    From that moment on
    Real life began
